Using AI for noise reduction in call centers

Call centers can be loud with employees talking to customers, HVAC noise and the hum of fluorescent lights. The Destination CRM website reports that noise-canceling systems using artificial intelligence (AI) can help reduce noise in call centers. High ambient noise levels decrease productivity and may also contribute to employee turnover. Sophisticated advanced noise cancellation using AI does a better job than simpler systems, according to the article.

The article notes that AI-assisted noise cancellation needs to be tailored to the specific circumstances of each situation. There is a body of research showing that high ambient noise levels decrease productivity, even in manufacturing settings. Reducing noise levels at work through noise cancellation or reducing noise at the source is a good idea.
