The first line of Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night” is: “If music be the food of love, play on.” That may be true, but we recommend that lovers find a quiet restaurant to have a Valentine’s Day meal, one where they can hear their partner’s “sweet nothings,” instead of struggling in a dining venue with background music turned up to rock concert levels. The Soundprint app can help someone find a quiet spot.

And if lovers want to hear each other over a lifetime of love, they should remember that if something sounds loud, it’s too loud and their auditory health is at risk. Turn down the volume, leave the noisy environment or use hearing protection, and your ears should last a lifetime.

Some additional advice for Valentine’s Day: When it comes to hearing protection, the best form of hearing protection is like the best form of birth control: it should be comfortable, easy to use and always available when needed!
