According to this editorial in the Santa Fe New Mexican, reducing noise is smart public policy. We couldn’t agree more.

As the editorial notes, noise from mufflers and drag racing was the problem that brought noise to the public’s attention, and then to that of the city council, but leaf blower noise is also a problem.

A city ordinance to increase fines for noisy mufflers and drag racing is on the agenda for the city council’s October 26 meeting. We wish the citizens of Santa Fe success in their efforts.

A quieter city will be a better and healthier city for all.
