How to protect your hearing as a live musician

HypeBot discusses what musicians can do to protect their hearing. Ron Hart, Spotify for Artists, spoke with some musicians and also with New York-based otolaryngologist Dr. Lloyd Loft, who specializes in treating musicians.

Recommendations include getting a baseline hearing test, using in-ear sound monitors, and being cognizant of ear wax that might interfere with the fit of the in-ear monitors.

I would add “turn down the volume,” but we know that’s not a realistic recommendation.
